About Music Therapy »
Music therapy is an evidence-based health-care profession that uses music interventions to address non-musical goals and improve quality of life and functioning in a variety of areas including: cognition, communication, motor skills, social skills, mental health, and emotional health, management of stress, alleviation of pain, emotional expression, physical rehabilitation and promotion of general wellness. Music therapy is a helping profession in which a therapeutic relationship is formed and developed through unique music experiences that are shared between client and therapist.
